Workshop on Energy Efficient Wireless Networks within ISWCS'13

International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems
August 27 – 30, 2013 – Ilmenau, Germany

Wireless/mobile broadband communication networks are increasingly leveraged for minimizing the environmental impact of human activities, through applications that aim at realizing the vision of a sustainable society and world economy. Moreover, it has been recognized that the energy consumption of wireless/mobile networks can become an issue due to the rapid growth of traffic and infrastructure. Therefore, the design of “green” wireless/mobile broadband networks has become a focus for research in academia and industry. Keeping pace with network expansion requires new paradigms for energy use in mobile networks, including improving the efficiency of networking infrastructure and adapting the network energy consumption to the varying traffic load, mobility and interference conditions, and overall situations that may be encountered.
This workshop solicits submissions of original work on all aspects of green wireless networks.
Topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
- Architectures and protocols for improving energy efficiency in wireless networks
- Energy consumption measurements and models
- Energy efficient air-interface technologies
- Green future wireless/mobile networks
- MAC, routing and transport protocols for green wireless
- Energy efficient wireless devices
- Energy management of wireless access infrastructures
- Energy-aware radio planning
- Bounds and limits on energy efficiency
- Energy-Performance tradeoff
- Wireless/mobile broadband applications for a sustainable economy and society
- Experiments, testbeds and prototypes

Papers for the above mentioned workshop can be submitted here:

Submission Regulations

Submission and review of all workshop papers will be handled through the paper management system EDAS. A 5-page manuscript  or an extended 2-page abstract (pdf-file) following the typing instructions <> by the VDE Verlag is requested. The papers will also be published in IEEE Xplore after the conference. All accepted workshop submissions must be covered by at least one full ISWCS registration by one of the authors, in order to be included in the ISWCS proceedings.
